Maple Ridge Weekly Update | Sept 8
School Update
To the students and families of MRS,
Today was our first assembly of the year. This was an exciting opportunity to have all students gather in the gym to foster our sense of connection and community. During this assembly, students were introduced to a picture book titled Maybe; a short story that highlights the endless potential in all of us.
At Maple Ridge School, we look forward to another wonderful year filled with new memories and a further exploration of our ‘endless potential.’
Each Friday, these messages will be shared with our families to stay up to date on events and information that impacts your student’s time here with us. These messages and other important updates can also be found on the Maple Ridge School Website
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Volunteering – We Need You
Without the support of our parent volunteers, field studies, and in-class presentations, are not possible. As teachers are beginning to book these fields studies, this is a friendly reminder that all parent volunteers require a valid police clearance. To start the process of getting a valid police clearance, or to confirm the status of your clearance, we ask you to please email us at mapleridge@cbe.ab.ca.
Student Health Plan
We ask that our families please complete a Student Health Plan for our students identified with significant health issues. Please do not hesitate to email us if you have any questions.
School Forms
There are a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians are required to complete or review and update. The following forms are available in an online format through School Engage:
· Demographic Verification – This from includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
· Annual Authorization – This form provides consent for school and district use of personal information.
· Citizenship Information Update – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
School Engage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, etc.
School Council and Parent Association Update
Healthy Hunger is Back!
The Parent Association is excited to offer our Fun Lunches and Snacks again this year through Healthy Hunger. Lunch is available to grades 1-4 and Topp Kids (kinder only). Kindergarten students will have the option to participate in Friday snacks when they are attending school that day. This is a great fundraiser as a portion of the proceeds from each sale go directly towards Maple Ridge School.
If you would like to participate you will need to register your child at the Healthy Hunger website at https://healthyhunger.ca/index.php.
Thank you for supporting Maple Ridge School with your orders!
Upcoming Dates:
Thursday, Sept. 14 - Little Caesars (deadline to order is 11:59pm on Saturday, Sept. 9)
Thursday, Sept. 28 - Subway

Friday, Oct. 27 - Kernels Popcorn - kinder can order*
Order deadline is 5 days prior to the date for each event. Orders can be changed, canceled, or added to until this time. Unfortunately, once the orders have closed no changes can be made.
This year we are again able to welcome parent volunteers into the school to support distribution of Friday Snacks. If you have a confirmed police clearance and are able to help out please send us a message to mapleridgecouncil@gmail.com. The time commitment is ~40 mins and your help would be greatly appreciated.
