The role of school council is to provide parents with an opportunity to become involved in and discuss issues that impact their children’s education. School councils work together with the principal to support and enhance student learning by discussing and advising on issues such as academic programs, school policies, budgets, safety, bussing, technology, and school activities. We also host various events throughout the year to create a positive and connected school community.

As a parent or guardian of a student attending Maple Ridge School you are automatically considered a member of school council and have voting rights at meetings. We greatly encourage you to attend these monthly meetings as important updates and context is given about what is happening in our school and at the broader provincial level.
