School Update
As we wrap up our first full week of school, we are thrilled to have our staff and students back together at Maple Ridge.
At today’s Welcome Assembly, Piggie and Gerald made a surprise appearance to read Are You Ready to Play Outside? Students also shared wonderful examples of how we can:
- Take Care of Place
- Take Care of Others
- Take Care of Self
We wish all families a well-deserved weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday!

Lunch Registration
Students in grade 1-4 stay at school over the lunch break to eat their lunch and to have an active living break. Lunch supervision registration continues throughout the year, and payments can only be accepted once students are registered. You can register and pay using your MyCBE parent account.
2025-26 lunch supervision registration and fees will be available after September 2025. You can pay using MyCBE.
Please visit Fees and Waivers for more information.
Transportation
CBE Transportation continues to accept registration through your MyCBE account and students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume. Families are responsible for transportation until their registration is confirmed.
Bussing Communication
If your child rides the bus and you decide they are not to take the bus home on a particular day, we ask that you do the following:
- Same day notice - please call the school for confirmation so that we can update our attendance records 403-777-6280
- At least one day's notice - please email classroom teacher and mapleridge@cbe.ab.ca
Calendars
Designate a Meeting Place
It is crucial to establish a designated meeting spot for 3:40 pick-up times. All students in grades 1-4 will be dismissed from their designated exit doors and should go directly to the meeting spots identified with their families. Please ensure that your meeting spot is not in the school parking lot, as this area is off-limits to parents and students. For Kindergarten students, teachers will wait with them until a parent arrives for pick-up. We have instructed all students that if they reach their meeting spot and no one is there to pick them up after five minutes, they should come to the office through the front entrance of the school for assistance.
Label Everything
Every year, our Lost and Found collects a significant amount of unclaimed clothing and belongings that ends up being donated to charity. Please label your child’s items with their name so they can be returned if misplaced.
Friendly Reminders:
As we enter a new school year, we have shared below some friendly reminders for our families:
- Please pack spoons/forks for your child if needed.
- Students need proper shoes for PE and recess (no sandals/flip-flops).
- The playground is for students only during school hours.
- Kindergarteners may use the playground with a parent if no class is present.
- After 3:40 p.m., the playground is open to the public and is not supervised.
- No dogs allowed on school property.
