School Update

To the students and families of MRS,

As the weather has shifted to colder mornings and warmer afternoons, we are noticing that many of our students are leaving articles of clothing outside later in the day when they are not needed. To ensure that these items are returned to the original owner, we encourage all families to label them. We will also continue to remind the students to check if they have everything before they come back inside.

We are extending the deadline for completing our September Meet the Teacher Feedback to Friday, October 11th. This extension is because we value parent feedback and want to ensure our decision-making process includes this information.

September Meet the Teacher Feedback

Lunch Supervision Registration

Lunch Supervision – All students who stay for lunch at school need to register for noon supervision. Please log into your MyCBE account online and register for noon supervision. The fee for this service will be added to your account in October. You can pay monthly if you would like. No child is ever denied access to an education in the CBE because of an inability to pay fees. Fee waiver applications can be filled out through your MyCBE/PowerSchool Account.

World Teacher’s Day

October 5th is World Teacher’s Day. We want to take this opportunity to share our gratitude for our teachers as we have an exceptional staff who work diligently to ensure optimal earning opportunities and a positive school environment for our students

iLab Materials Needed

We are excited to announce that we are restocking our iLab materials!

iLab projects promote critical thinking skills and encourage students to use design thinking to solve real-world problems.

If you are willing to donate any of the following items, please drop them off at the front door (in the wagon) or send them with your child. We will be accepting donations until further notice.

If you have any questions or think you have something not listed that might be useful to our iLab, please email Mrs. Hildebrand at dthildebrand@cbe.ab.ca.

Thank you in advance for helping us collect these items and support innovation at Maple Ridge!

Traffic Safety Reminders

We want to remind our families of some traffic considerations during pick-up and drop-off times as we have noticed some illegal U-turns, and parking too close to the crosswalk, specifically on Mapleton Drive SE. As the safety of our students is of utmost importance, we remind all families to follow the rules of the road. We greatly appreciate your support with this.
