🎵 Notes from the Music Room🎵

Students have been actively engaged in learning new pieces for Winter Solstice. From reading new lyrics, singing in tune, practicing rhythm patterns, and creating sound stories, their musical celebrations are really coming together!   In the meantime, ask your child what their grade is working on for the Winter Solstice music performance!

🎵🔬 Fun Fact: Some winter birds, like chickadees, actually change their calls in colder months, singing slightly slower and lower to save energy—proof that even nature adjusts its music for the Winter Solstice season!

iLab Materials

Our iLab continues to be well stocked this week, but there are a few loose parts and items we would appreciate as donations. If you are willing to donate any of the following materials, please drop them off at the front door (wagon) or send them with your child.

  • Buttons
  • Nuts, bolts, springs, washers
  • Zip ties
  • Clips, fasteners
  • Elastics
  • Beads, glass stones
  • Foil

If you have any questions or think you have something not listed that might be useful to our iLab, please email Ms.Harris at anharris@cbe.ab.ca.

We really appreciate your donations and support!

Internal Lockdown Practice | CPS | Dec 4

In partnership with Calgary Police Services (CPS), Maple Ridge School will be taking part in the first of two internal lockdown drills. The purpose of this practice is to help students understand what to do in the event of a real emergency. During the drill, the Emergency Procedure Manual for Maple Ridge is followed, and our goal is to ensure that the experience is focused on learning and remains a positive one. Please feel free to contact David Laidlaw (drlaidlaw@cbe.ab.ca) if you have any questions.
