School Update

To the students and families of MRS,

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating and recognizing the many parent volunteers who contribute so much to our school community. Many of the valuable learning experiences our students enjoy, including field studies, classroom activities, and school wide events, would not be possible without their generous support, and our Volunteer Appreciation event was a small way to express our sincere gratitude.

A special thank you goes to our Grade 3 students for their wonderful songs and to all the students who helped create the artwork and videos that were shared during the celebration. We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and care our volunteers give to Maple Ridge School.

For families who have not yet had the opportunity to volunteer, we encourage you to begin the Police Clearance process through your MyCBE account so that you are ready to support future learning opportunities throughout the school year.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Grade 4 | Science Fair

Our Grade 4 scientists officially wrapped up their Science Fair this week, and what an incredible showcase of learning it was! Throughout this project, students explored real world environmental challenges connected to Earth's spheres, including the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.

Using the Design Thinking Process, students identified important environmental issues, brainstormed creative solutions, and developed prototypes to bring their ideas to life. Along the way, they gathered feedback, refined their thinking, and demonstrated impressive problem solving, collaboration, and perseverance.

A special thank you to all the parents and family members who were able to attend the Science Fair. Having an authentic audience for their work is incredibly meaningful for students and plays an important role in their confidence, engagement, and success. Your presence helped make the event even more memorable.

We are so proud of the hard work, creativity, and critical thinking our Grade 4 students demonstrated throughout this learning experience. Well done, scientists!

Families are now able to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. Service levels and fees are outlined below. Registration is available through MyCBE. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)

Families must apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026, for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August.
