School Update
To the students and families of MRS,
Last night, we were pleased to host a Self-guided Open House for new families as a follow-up to our Virtual Open House held on January 8. The event was well attended and provided an opportunity for Maple Ridge School to showcase what makes our Science Alternative Program unique. Families were able to explore our learning spaces, engage with our staff, and gain a deeper understanding of how inquiry, hands-on learning, and scientific thinking are embedded throughout our school.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our Maple Ridge School families for your incredible generosity and support of the Maple Ridge School Holiday Food Drive. Through your kindness and willingness to give, our community came together to collect 400 pounds of food, helping to make food accessible for individuals and families in need across our city. Your support truly reflects the caring spirit of our school community, and we are grateful for the positive impact you have helped make for those who rely on the Calgary Food Bank.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Grade 4 Parents | Alberta Education Survey
An email will be sent from School Improvement to all Grade 4 families inviting parents to share their input through the Alberta Education Assurance Survey. This voluntary and anonymous survey provides an important opportunity for families to reflect on their child’s school experience, and the feedback gathered helps inform school improvement and helps shape the future of education in Alberta. The survey deadline is March 6, 2026.
Literacy Resources
To celebrate Family Literacy Week, the CBE Literacy & Early Learning Teams have shared ideas & resources to support key areas of literacy development that can be used at home.

Student Fees Request
As we look ahead to upcoming field studies, we ask families to please ensure that all field study fees are paid through the MyCBE online payment system. Field studies play an important role in enriching student learning by providing meaningful, hands-on experiences that extend beyond the classroom. When fees are not fully collected, the school must absorb the remaining costs, and this can result in a deficit. To allow us to continue offering these valuable learning opportunities, we appreciate families keeping payments up to date. Thank you for your support with this.
Registration packages will be accepted beginning on Monday, January 12, 2026.
