School Update

To the students and families of MRS,

We want to take a moment to share an important policy in place at our school: students are not to bring food from home to share with other students during the school day.

This policy is essential for several reasons. Many of our students have allergies or dietary restrictions that could make sharing food unsafe for them. By ensuring that each child only consumes food provided by their own family we can help maintain a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing this rule with your child as this will help us protect the health and well-being of all our students.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

iLab Materials Needed

We are excited to announce that we are restocking our iLab materials!

iLab projects promote critical thinking skills and encourage students to use design thinking to solve real-world problems.

If you are willing to donate any of the following items, please drop them off at the front door (in the wagon) or send them with your child. We will be accepting donations until further notice.

If you have any questions or think you have something not listed that might be useful to our iLab, please email Mrs. Hildebrand at dthildebrand@cbe.ab.ca.

Lacrosse Residency Update

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent lacrosse residency program! Over the past few weeks, all students had the opportunity to learn and engage with the sport of lacrosse; building skills, confidence, and teamwork along the way.

We are proud of how this program has fostered a sense of community and encouraged students new to the sport to step out of their comfort zones. Many students have expressed a newfound confidence and a desire to continue exploring the sport beyond the residency.

On Monday, students will bring home a Free Roughnecks Ticket that can be redeemed for a game of your choice.

Thank you to our Parent Association for making this residency possible.

Report Cards – Viewable Monday, Jan 27

Families will be able to view online student report cards for Kindergarten to Grade 4 beginning Monday, January 27. Report cards for the 2024-25 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed by signing in to the MyCBE account.

Registration (New Students)

Kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 school year is open. To be eligible for Kindergarten next school year, children must turn five years old on or before December 31, 2025. Registration for new Grade 1-4 students has also begun. For more information, visit the CBE Registration Page and our school website

RTA Alderman – Current Grade 4 Students – Jan 30

The 2024-2025 RTA Open House is scheduled for Thursday, January 30th at 6:00pm. As Maple Ridge's parents are familiar with the Science Program, participation at this Open House is not mandatory. In addition to the presentation, families are welcome to tour the building, speak to teachers and students, and to check out the Science Fair Projects between 6:00pm and 7:45pm. Maple Ridge students are automatically designated to RTA, and we ask that you email us at mapleridge@cbe.ab.ca if you are not attending RTA.
