School Update
To the students and families of MRS,
Kindness Week at Maple Ridge was a tremendous success and a wonderful reflection of the caring community we continue to build together. We kicked off the week with a school-wide assembly on Monday, where Grade 3 students did a beautiful job Acknowledging the Land, setting a thoughtful and respectful tone for the week ahead. Grade 4 students also shared powerful pieces of writing connected to kindness, demonstrating both empathy and insight in their reflections. As a school, we came together to sing The Kindness Song, and throughout the week, it has been inspiring to see our Acts of Kindness connected to our Pillars of Care growing in web form across the hallways.
On Wednesday, students proudly wore pink in support of Pink Shirt Day, reinforcing our shared commitment to kindness, inclusion, and standing up for one another. To close out the week, we were excited to welcome a special virtual visit from Piggie and Gerald, who acknowledged the many acts of kindness they have been hearing about. They also treated us to a reading of Let's Go for a Drive! much to the delight of our students. This week highlighted the importance of kindness in our school community.

Professional Learning | Riverside School
Today, teachers participated in a meaningful day of professional learning at Riverside School alongside colleagues from other CBE Science Alternative Programs. This collaborative opportunity allowed educators to come together to share best practices, deepen their understanding of high-impact instructional strategies, and reflect on how we can continue to strengthen student engagement in our unique learning environments.
School Conferences | March 19 & 20
We would like to let families know that Conferences for all students will take place on March 19 and 20. Additional information, including booking details and scheduling procedures, will be shared with families closer to the conference dates. We look forward to connecting with you.
Grade 4 Parents | Alberta Education Survey
An email will be sent from School Improvement to all Grade 4 families inviting parents to share their input through the Alberta Education Assurance Survey. This voluntary and anonymous survey provides an important opportunity for families to reflect on their child’s school experience, and the feedback gathered helps inform school improvement and helps shape the future of education in Alberta. The survey deadline is March 6, 2026.
