School Update
To the students and families of MRS,
As we wrap up 2024 with our final weekly update of the year, we have many things to be thankful for at Maple Ridge.
To begin, we want to thank all staff and students for their wonderful performances and leaning's that they shared at our Winter Solstice. We also extend our gratitude to Ms. Hebenton, our fantastic music teacher, as she continues to create beautiful learning experiences for our students. To our families, thank you for making time and attending this celebration. Your attendance shows the importance and value you have with our program.
To Elder Harley, thank you for continuing to partner with our school and share your teachings. Your stories around Winter Solstice and Indigenous ways of knowing and being are greatly appreciated.
To our Parent Association, thank you for all that you do to support our school. From fundraising to volunteering, examples such as the iLab Mix and Mingle on Winter Solstice help foster a sense of community at our school.
We wish everyone a well-deserved holiday break and look forward to welcoming all students back on Monday, January 6.

Open House Information – January 9
Maple Ridge School will host a Virtual Open House on the evening of Thursday, January 9. The Open House will provide an overview of the Science Alternative Program and the registration/application process for news students who seek to join the Maple Ridge community.
The PowerPoint presentation will be posted to the school website after January 10, 2025. Registration packages will be accepted beginning on Monday, January 13, 2025.

RTA Alderman – Current Grade 4 Students
The 2024-2025 RTA Open House is scheduled for Thursday, January 30th at 6:00pm. As Maple Ridge's parents are familiar with the Science Program, participation at this Open House is not mandatory. In addition to the presentation, families are welcome to tour the building, speak to teachers and students, and to check out the Science Fair Projects between 6:00pm and 7:45pm. Maple Ridge students are automatically designated to RTA, and we ask that you email us at mapleridge@cbe.ab.ca if you are not attending RTA.

Thank you volunteers!
We had a wonderful time meeting with so many Maple Ridge family members at Winter Solstice yesterday. A big thank you to the many volunteers who helped hand out hot chocolate and treats, Purdy’s and spirit wear orders.
AGM and School Council/Parent Association Roles
Our School Council and Parent Association Annual General Meetings (AGM) will be held virtually on Thursday, January 16, 2025. All parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. We are still looking to fill the role of Secretary. Read the role description here.
