School Update

To the students and families of MRS,

On April 17, Maple Ridge School is extremely excited to host our Fourth Annual Science Olympics. To successfully pull this event off, we need volunteers. If you can volunteer, and you have an active police clearance that has been shared with our school, we ask you to please connect with your child’s teacher

We’re excited to announce that our school-wide Photography Residency will begin next week! Each class will have the opportunity to take part in this creative experience. A heartfelt thank you to the Maple Ridge Parent Association for generously funding this incredible opportunity for our students.

Families or individual children who will not be returning to Maple Ridge School for the 2025-2026 school year are requested to let the school know as soon as possible by emailing us mapleridge@cbe.ab.ca. Informing the school of your intentions to transfer will facilitate the smoothest transition possible.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend with some anticipated warmer weather.

Reminder for Paying Fees

We encourage all families to take a moment to review your myCBE account for any outstanding fee payments. When doing this, please ensure you look at all tabs (top of page) for your students and use the “Fee, Waivers & Service Registration” to access all school-based fees. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.

School Council & Parent Association

Friendly reminder that our Growing Smiles plant and flower fundraiser is going strong! Please get your orders in before April 23.

Popular flowers for our Calgary climate include geraniums, marigolds and petunias - available in multiple colours, they will add a pop to any garden!

All proceeds support resources and activities for our kids at Maple Ridge.

Reach us anytime at mapleridgecouncil@gmail.com. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook.

iLab Donations – Pause for now

A heartfelt thank you to our families for the generous donations of iLab consumable materials—we’ve received an incredible response lately!

At this time, we kindly ask that families pause on bringing in additional items. We’ll be sure to share an update when we’re ready to collect more materials again.

Parking in Bus Stop Request

We kindly ask families to avoid parking along Mapleton Road in the designated bus zone, as it creates challenges for our 12 school buses during drop-off and pick-up times.

Additionally, we encourage families not to park near the alleyway on Mapleton Drive at the end of the day. This helps ensure our before- and after-care program vans have clear and safe access.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Lost and Found

There are still many lost items waiting to be claimed at school. To help with the search, all classes will be taking a brief “Lost and Found” tour early next week.

Any unclaimed items remaining after Thursday at 3:00 PM will be bagged and donated to a worthy cause.

Thanks for helping us reunite these items with their owners!
