School Update

To the students and families of MRS,

As our Alien Inline residency has unofficially ended, we want to share the following make-up schedule for the classes that missed a session on April 29th due to instructor illness.

  • May 31 – 3 Sessions (Rm 4, 5, 9)
  • June 7 – 2 Sessions (Rm 7, Rm 3)

On these dates, we ask students that are participating to please wear socks and to bring their own helmet.

For next Monday, we are excited to share that our school is experiencing its second of back-to-back residences. Passion for Glass is an opportunity for students to learn more about the science behind glass, and to create a legacy art piece for our front fence. Additionally, thanks to the support of the MRS Parent Association, each student will also make a take-home key chain/necklace. Our teachers participated in this workshop earlier in the year, and their projects are installed on the fence in front of our school.

Wishing everyone a great weekend!

Registration for School Bus Orientation Program

The CBE offers a school bus orientation program for first-time riders and their parents, called My 1st Ride. Attendants must register in advance. Spots are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
The program consists of a 20-minute presentation followed by a short ride on a school bus and a drama presentation. After the bus ride, students are invited back to the school gym to visit the service provider's booths.
Each new rider will also be given a certificate of completion. The sessions on Saturday, May 25th or Sunday, May 26th, run every half hour between 9 AM and 3 PM. Each session will take approximately 1 hour.
Staff from CBE Transportation, Calgary Catholic School District, Southland Transportation, and First Student are available for information and/or questions.
