School Update
To the students and families of MRS,
Spring has welcomed us with an abundance of snow and cold temperatures. Despite this less than desirable weather, we are thankful and appreciative of our families that were able to attend conferences these past couple of days. We know students at Maple Ridge work hard and engage in wonderful learning opportunities, and your participation as an audience for their work allows them to take pride in all that they have accomplished.
If you were unable to make the past few days work, we encourage you to reach out to the classroom teacher to find time to connect.
We are also excited as our acts of kindness chains have spread throughout our hallways. This visual representation illustrates how at Maple Ridge School, we take care of others, take care of this place, and take care of our-self.
As we now move into a break with classes resuming on Tuesday, April 2nd, we encourage all our families to take care of themselves by engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment.
Wishing everyone a happy ‘Spring’!

Next Year Planning
As we continue planning for next year, having accurate enrollment projections for our students is extremely important.
If you know that your child will not be attending our school next year, and you have not let us know this yet, can you please do so as soon as possible by emailing mapleridge@cbe.ab.ca?
If your child will remain at Maple Ridge School for next year, there is no action you need to take as they will automatically be enrolled into their next grade.
For our parents of grade 4 students, please know that they will be automatically enrolled at RT Alderman.
Trading Cards, Electronics and Toys
We often remind students that we come to school to learn. When we keep this focus and lens on learning it reminds us that students do not need to bring items such as electronics, toys, and trading cards to school. These items are prone to being lost, broken, or taken and the school cannot be responsible for the safekeeping of these items. Therefore, we ask that students leave such items at home and use their school ‘free time’ to be physically active and to engage in appropriate social interactions.
Should your child require these items as a support in the learning then we would ask that you have a prior conversation with your child’s teacher before sending these items to school
Child & Youth Well-Being Family & Caregiver Series
As we know some of our families have older children, we are sharing the following invite:
Mental Health & Anxiety (Grades 7-12)
On March 14th from 6:30-8:00pm, learn evidence-based strategies to support youth in Grades 7 to 12 in managing stress and anxiety.
