School Update To the students and families of MRS, This past week our students have been engaged in Acts of Kindness. To recognize these acts of kindness, colored paper chains are beginning to spread from classroom to classroom, and these chains are represented with the following colors:
As part of this week, we had a school wide buddy reading activity, where everyone in our building was able to engage in literacy with a peer. This event showed kindness to others as students of different grades could engage in reading with each other. For our Hair Love Assembly on Thursday, we were impressed with the sharing we had from many of our students as it highlighted the learning that they had completed in the classroom that has focused on kindness. It is evident this week that Maple Ridge School takes care of self, others, and this place. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Maple Ridge Staff Upcoming Important Dates
Gymnastics Next week our students are excited as we introduce the large gymnastics equipment and climber. As a friendly reminder, we ask that students come prepared by having long hair tied back, no jewelry, pants/shorts, and shirts that can be tucked in. School Planning Survey We recognize that we make better decisions to support student learning when the input of all stakeholders is considered and when we work together. With this understanding, we are asking our families to share their perspective on our School Development Plan, School Budget, and School Fees. The survey will remain open until March 15. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your input. Child Tax Receipts Childcare Tax Receipts are now available for Lunch supervision for 2023. We have shared the steps below for accessing these forms:
iLab Materials Still Needed We are continuing to restock our iLab materials! iLab projects promote critical thinking skills and encourage students to use design thinking to solve real-world problems. If you are willing to donate any of the following items, please drop them off at the front door (in the wagon) or send them with your child. We will be accepting donations until further notice. If you have any questions or think you have something not listed that might be useful to our iLab, please email Mrs. Hildebrand at dthildebrand@cbe.ab.ca. Thank you in advance for helping us collect these items and support innovation at Maple Ridge!
