School Update To the students and families of MRS, We are excited to kick off our Kindness Week on Monday. A variety of experiences have been planned which includes gathering as a whole school either virtually or in-person several times throughout the week. We also want to share a thanks to the parents who joined us for our School Council and Parent Teacher Association meetings on Thursday. This month the Leadership Report was focused on School Planning, including School Development Planning, School Budget, and School Fees. We value your input and ask that you complete the survey below as we invite you to provide feedback which informs decisions moving forward: Lastly, we want to remind all Maple Ridge Families that if your child currently attends Maple Ridge School, you do not need to participate in our lottery. Your child will automatically remain in the program. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Maple Ridge Staff Upcoming Important Dates
iLab Materials Needed We are excited to announce that we are restocking our iLab materials! iLab projects promote critical thinking skills and encourage students to use design thinking to solve real-world problems. If you are willing to donate any of the following items, please drop them off at the front door (in the wagon) or send them with your child. We will be accepting donations until further notice. If you have any questions or think you have something not listed that might be useful to our iLab, please email Mrs. Hildebrand at dthildebrand@cbe.ab.ca. Thank you in advance for helping us collect these items and support innovation at Maple Ridge!
Not needed at this time: Egg Cartons and Fabric Volunteer Applications Through School Engage| Parents and guardians can now register to volunteer online in the SchoolEngage tab of their MyCBE account. Once volunteers have created an account they can request and receive their volunteer letter required to obtain their police security clearance. Schools will continue to follow the process for generating letters. There are no changes, at this time, to the ePIC application and payment process, currently outlined on the CBE Volunteer InSite page and managed by Calgary Police Service. Once volunteers have their police information check and vulnerable sector clearance document (PIC VS), it can be uploaded and shared directly with the school through the SchoolEngage account. Schools and volunteers can see their application status and if more information is required by the school to complete the process to volunteer. Assurance Survey – Grade 4 Parents As a parent of a child in grade 4, you will receive a survey package in the mail from Alberta Education. It will include the survey link and random-access code for you to complete the survey online. Both student and parent surveys are anonymous. The survey results are used at the system and school level to make evidence-informed decisions for school improvement. The parent/guardian survey is now open and will close March 1, 2024. We thank you for taking the time to include your voice in this survey. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
