School Update

To the students and families of MRS,

Wow!!!

We ended this week with our Third Annual Science Olympics, and we could not be happier with the incredible community support and student engagement.

Our opening ceremony kicked off with a Piggie and Gerald crisis where Gerald was without his Elephant Toothpaste. Thanks to the quick-thinking action of 4 Maple Ridge Students, all necessary ingredients were found and delivered to Piggie in the gym so that Elephant Toothpaste could be created. For families interested in trying this experiment at home, check out here. For the best results, use 12% Hydrogen Peroxide.

For our closing ceremony, a student from each of the Olympic Rings was encapsulated in a bubble mixture. If families are interested in this experiment, the following is needed, and more information can be found here

  • Recipe makes about 4 L of solution:
  • 3.5 L water (hot from tap)
  • 2 cups of Dawn dishwashing soap
  • 2/3 cups of glycerin
  • 1packets of Knox unflavored Gelatin

Lastly, we want to share a big thank you to all our parent volunteers who made this event possible, and to the Parent Association for the snacks and lunch that were provided.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Join us to learn useful strategies to respond when anxiety shows up and what you need to do to help your child manage anxiety effectively while boosting their resilience. This is your opportunity to equip yourself with the knowledge and tools to support your child through anxiety, fostering a healthier, happier future for them.

This presentation is funded by the School Council, with the assistance of the Alberta School Engagement (ASCE) Grant.

Alien Inline Skating Experience (April 17-May 3)

All volunteers are required to book ahead of time. Please book for either the morning or the afternoon to ensure we have enough volunteers for each session.

Students, please remember to have socks and a helmet (if possible)
